Profile

Naa Ode Lansana is a lawyer at MUNERA. She is licensed to practice law in Ontario. Naa joined MUNERA as an associate lawyer after completing her Articles with the firm.

She completed her JD at Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto. Naa also completed her Master of Development Economics and an advanced double major in Economics and International Development at Dalhousie University in Halifax.

Naa practices in the areas of litigation with focus on family, estates and civil litigation matters. She has a particular passion for Family and Estates law and pursued various interests to that end. She has worked at the Family Law Division of the Community and Legal Aid Services  Program and with FEAT for Children of Incarcerated Parents.

Naa’s approach includes exploring alternative disputes resolution outcomes for her clients at first and fiercely and strategically advocating for her clients in court when necessary. She has co-mediated cases in Superior Court and prepared clients for adversarial matters towards court trials.

Prior to her law degree, Naa obtained extensive experience working in varied endeavours. She worked with the United Nations Development Program in Vietnam. Working in the Country Economist Unit, she collaborated with the Ministry of Planning and Investment in tackling issues of aid monitoring and effectiveness.  

Through the Pearson Centre, she travelled widely and worked with various organizations including the United Nations, European Union, and security sector actors on peace and security issues. 

At Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada, as well as the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada, Naa engaged in issues of economic development and financial literacy. 

The decision to become a lawyer was in fulfillment of a long-held goal to be of service to the community through the law. Naa has participated in various clinics, worked on submissions to different tribunals, gained extensive file management competencies and developed valuable advocacy skills. 

Naa is fluent in English, Fanti and Twi.
